Official Launch of the Adelaide International Kells Road Races 2010

Kells & District Motor Cycle Racing Club would like to thank all those who attended the launch of the 2010 Adelaide International Kells Road Races in McKeon Motors last night.  Over 120 attended what turned out to be a very successful launch.  The Kells Club would like to thank the sponsors, councillors, Co. Councillors, riders, medical team, Gardai, residents, members of other clubs including Armoy, Tandragee, Fore, Loughshinney,  Trevor Harbison was there from the UGP and friends who also attended.

Mckeon Motors Showrooms proved the ideal venue for the launch .  Nichola Pearce representing Adelaide Insurance Services and Chairman of the Kells Town Council Brian Curran officially launched the races.   William & Michael Dunlop officially launched the New Medical Car a Mitsubishi Grandis with Peter Gallagher and Micheal McKeon and members of the Medical Team and Kells Club Members.       Also launched on the night was the Kells to Kells Rideout with Tony Lynch and The Charity Classic Run in aid of the Irish Wheelchair Association with Johnny Landy.       Chairman Brian Curran expressed his thanks to the hardworking Kells Club and emphasized the importance of the Road Races to the local economy of Meath.  He noted the expansion of the event for 2010 and looked forward to welcoming all the visitors to Kells.

Councillor Bryan Reilly said the Meath Tourism and Failte Ireland amongst others need to really get behind this huge event.  He congratulated the Club on their dedication and hard work.       Trevor Callaghan President of MCUI congratulated the Kells Club on running such a successful event and hoped that he would be able to attend in July if there were not motocross events on that weekend.       Nichola Pearce expressed the delight of Adelaide Insurance Services to be associated with and sponsor of the Kells Races until 2012.  They have watched the event grow in stature each year and the Kells to Kells Rideout is also getting bigger each year and has raised a lot of money for charity.

    Supt Pat Collins assured all present of the continued support from the Garda and looked forward to working with the Club in conjuction with Sgt. Brian Morrissey who was the main organiser of the Gardai for the race weekend.       All present thought that the Armoy/Kells link was very positive and looked forward to hearing the details of this championship.
