KELLS RECEIVES ANOTHER AWARD FOR THEIR PROMOTION OF ROAD SAFETY
On Friday 19th December at Farmleigh House, Phoenix Park , Dublin, Aileen Ferguson , Race Secretary and PRO of Kells MCRC was presented with a Road Safety Award by Mr. Gay Byrne (Formerly of the LATE LATE SHOW) now Chairman of the Road Safety Authority. Aileen was delighted to receive the award and also said the she was proud to receive it on behalf of the Kells Club. During 2008 the Kells Club promoted Road Safety and ran a very successful Road Safety Seminar.
It also put road safety messages on it posters, etc when advertising the races. Aileen and fellow club members together with the Gardai and Road Racers Caoith Lawless and Gerry Daniel visited schools promoting road safety. In 2009 the club will be promoting BIKESAFE which is actively promoted by the Gardai and PSNI. Aileen had been nominated for the award by the Road Safety Officer for County Meath Mr. Michael Finnegan.
