It's full speed ahead for the "Adelaide International Kells Road Races 2011"
The cancellation of last year's event due the torrential rain which left the circuit in an unfit state for
racing after just 3 races, resulted in a loss in revenue for race organisers the "Kells &
The good news is that despite these difficulties, passion for the sport has won through and propelled those involved to find solutions, so it's full speed ahead for this 17th international road racing event, in Kells, County Meath with: Practice Day on Saturday 16 July and Race Day, Sunday 17 July - 11 races, guaranteeing a top-class field of international riders and competitive racing culminating in the International Kells Grand Final.
Race Secretary, Aileen Ferguson said "We're delighted that given our recent difficulties we're up and running for 2011 with Adelaide, as ever the Kells MCRC have worked extremely hard to bring a top class event yet again to Co Meath. We'd like to wish all competitors safe racing and once again the club are promoting BikeSafe together with Meath County Council, the Gardai and PSNI for all spectators travelling to and from the event."
Sam Geddis, Director of Adelaide Insurance Services said: "We've been involved with this event for a number of years now and a great deal of time has been invested in building relationships and working with the Kells MCRC to enhance this event, so we had to find a way of making it work, and we have!"
This event once again includes The "Kells Bike Fest" in Co. Meath on Saturday 16 July - a major attraction for the whole family. Tony Lynch, from the Kells MCRC is organizing the entertainment and back by popular demand world stunt rider Mattie Griffin, will be there!
Saturday 16 July, the fourth annual "Adelaide Kells to Kells Ride-out" organised by the Quay Vipers Motorcycle Club will take place from Co. Antrim to Co. Meath where bikers will arrive in time to enjoy the “Adelaide International Kells Road Races.” The ride-out starts at the Kells Community Centre with plenty of attractions for the whole family. Transplant Sport UK is the charity the ride-out is supporting this year to help raise the profile of organ donation which saves lives! The 34th British Transplant Games are being held in Belfast from 4 - 7 August 2011. This event aims to demonstrate to the public the benefits of organ transplantation and promotes the desperate need for more organ donors.
